With that being noted, the Celtics are looking good in the pre-season. Name me one major fault, and I’ll calculate that up as to how they’re playing. Today in London the Celtics played Kevin Garnett’s former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and won convincingly 92-81, with Ray Allen leading the way with 28 points. Garnett only scored 9, but sure made a few defensive highlights with three (3) blocks, also playing a big part in the passing game of the offense, leading Kendrick Perkins to two consecutive dunks. However, Garnett committed several infractions, turning the ball over six (6) times. If the pre-season for the Celtics is any implication for the regular season, we know one thing — when this offense is on fire, it’s near impossible to stop as far as to being adamant. It may be only the pre-season, but to keep Celtics fans from smiling right now is the same as stopping the offense when it’s on fire. Near impossible. Celtics Leaders/’Awards’ Quotes: “The past is the past,” [Kevin] Garnett said. “This is a new chapter in my life.” “We have three guys at the exact right time,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “They’ve done everything. They’ve achieved everything individually. Now they want to achieve something as a team.” “That’s the way it’s going to be for us on any given night,” Rivers added. “One, maybe two are going to get going. The night we get all three going, it’s going to be a fun night.” Former Celtic Ricky Davis also made some comments following the game on Kevin Garnett. “It was definitely a different experience seeing Kevin in green,” said Davis, who scored a team-high 18 points. “I almost threw him the ball once, but then I saw that green jersey.” Posted in Uncategorized |
