June 6th, 2007 Tony Allen Rehab Update

Celtics guard Tony Allen, who tore his ACL/MCL in January, has been pushing himself hard in order to get back for October’s training camp. Allen says he still watches the game tape daily, and turns it off as soon as the injury occurs. He uses it as motivation. “I look at the game everyday, I watch it, and then I look at the injury - BOOM! - and I’m like…[Allen pauses, and his voice drops]…alright, turn it off. Let’s do some leg squats! I’ve got 40-pound dumbbells I took from the weight room, and I do some lunges.”

With Allen’s work ethic and desire to get back on the court, it’s only a matter of time before this fan favorite gets to re-gain his swagger and prove the doubters wrong.

June 1st, 2007 Celtics Summer League Schedule Released

The 2007 Vegas Summer League will run from July 6th to July 15th. The Boston Celtics have five games in that span, as the young Celtics will try and make a name for themselves quickly. The rosters have not been completed, as that will come shortly after the 2007 NBA Draft (June 28th), but we can at least expect guys like Leon Powe, Allan Ray, and possibly even Tony Allen, if he’s ready to go by that time. The Celtics’ schedule is as follows:

July 6: vs. Portland Trail Blazers (7:00 pm)

July 9: vs. San Antonio Spurs (1:00 pm)

July 11: vs. Chinese National Team (7:00 pm)

July 13: vs. Milwaukee Bucks (5:00 pm)

July 14: vs. New York Knicks (1:00 pm)
