| Glen Davis’ Worth To The Celtics | |
When Kevin Garnett went down with what now can be classified as a season ending injury, plenty of people figured that the Celtics were done and it’s no way they’d be able to remain competitive. One of the reasons for that is because Boston had just lost their defensive anchor and emotional leader and another reason was because the other big men on the roster were nowhere close to the offensive skill-set of The Big Ticket. Glen Davis stepped in and slowly but surely improved his game on the fly and in the post-season he had a mini coming out party as he averaged 16 PPG, matching the offensive input as Kevin Garnett during the regular season. Big Baby Davis came up big for the Celtics time after time, including a game winning, buzzer beater to defeat the Magic on the road.
With Glen Davis becoming a free agent this off-season, how much can we or should we expect to see the Celtics throw his way? Boston won’t have anything other than MLE to offer during free agency and Davis could be offered the whole thing or more from other teams and you’d think the Celtics would be willing to offer the whole MLE, but can they afford to? There is no question that Davis means something to this team, but how much does he mean the Celtics, financially speaking? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned and see what kind of offer Danny Ainge gives him. No related posts. Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.
